According to SAEDNEWS, people do not all respond to falling temperatures in the same way. While one person may reach for a sweater as soon as the air gets chilly, another may remain comfortable for much longer. This difference is influenced by how the body produces, distributes, and senses heat.
Body fat provides some insulation by slowing heat loss from deeper tissues. As a result, differences in body composition can affect how quickly someone feels cold. However, insulation is only one part of the picture. Muscle tissue also contributes to heat production, particularly during movement and shivering.
The body constantly adjusts blood flow to help maintain its internal temperature. In cold conditions, blood vessels near the skin can narrow, reducing blood flow to the extremities and limiting heat loss from the body's surface. Because circulation varies between individuals, some people may notice cold hands and feet sooner than others.

The body produces heat through normal metabolic activity. People with differences in metabolic rate may therefore experience temperature differently. Physical activity also increases heat production, which explains why someone who is walking or exercising may feel comfortable in weather that makes a stationary person feel cold.

Clothing, recent activity, humidity, wind, and whether a person has recently eaten can also affect how warm or cold they feel.
A persistent or unusual change in sensitivity to cold, especially when accompanied by other symptoms, can sometimes warrant medical attention. Conditions affecting circulation, metabolism, or hormone function may influence temperature sensitivity, so a significant unexplained change should not simply be attributed to having a naturally high cold tolerance.
For most people, however, differences in when they start feeling cold are a normal result of individual physiology and the body's complex system for regulating temperature.
