A Young Woman’s Strange Shock After Her Nose Surgery

According to Saednews reports, unusual incidents are not rare around the world, and with the help of social media, people can quickly learn about such events wherever they happen. The case reported here is a different and surprising one involving a Chinese woman who noticed a change in her ear after undergoing cosmetic nose surgery, which later led to a public complaint against the hospital.

A 31-year-old Chinese woman named Zhao had recently undergone rhinoplasty at a hospital in Chengdu. After her second nose surgery at Angel Wing Hospital in early September, she returned home the next day feeling satisfied with the results. However, a few days later, while looking at her new nose in the mirror as part of her daily routine, she noticed something unusual in her ear. Upon closer inspection, she realized that a portion of the cartilage in her ear was missing, and instead there appeared to be a line of surgical stitches. Shocked and angry, she returned to the hospital to file a complaint. The dispute with the medical staff escalated to the point where security had to intervene, but in the end, she did not achieve a resolution.

In an interview, Zhao said that she had undergone a nose job five years earlier but was unhappy with the result, which led her to repeat the procedure. She stated that everything initially went well and she was satisfied after the surgery. However, four days later, she discovered the change in her ear. When she returned to the hospital, she said she did not receive a clear explanation. A surgical assistant claimed that she had already agreed in the consent form signed before the operation that ear cartilage could be used if needed during rhinoplasty.

Zhao said she was unaware of this clause when signing the document. Later, when she reviewed the consent form, she realized that it did indeed include permission for the surgeon to remove part of her ear cartilage. She admitted that she had signed it without carefully reading all the details, which ultimately weakened her ability to pursue legal action.
