SAEDNEWS: UK Ministry of Defence announced on Tuesday evening that the British Armed Forces are preparing to deploy a warship, several fighter jets, and unmanned minesweepers to the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the political news service of Saed News, the UK Ministry of Defence announced on Tuesday evening that the British Armed Forces are ready to deploy military forces with the aim of reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement, the ministry said:
“As part of the upcoming mission for freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, the UK will deploy unmanned minesweepers, the latest anti-drone systems, Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets, and the destroyer HMS Dragon.”
According to Sputnik, discussions regarding the Strait of Hormuz were held on Tuesday between senior military officials from more than 40 countries in an alliance led by the United Kingdom and France.
The UK Ministry of Defence also noted that it will allocate £115 million to support this maritime mission.
