SAEDNEWS: Suri, a girl from Alamut, journeyed to Ardabil in search of her true love.
According to Saed News, a young girl from the village of Gazarkhan in Qohm-e Alamout, Qazvin, fell in love with a young man serving as a teacher-soldier in her village. His name was Ayub. Ayub promised Suro that he would return to Alamout after completing his military service. But when his term ended, Ayub never returned.
Desperate, Suro left her home and family behind and traveled to Ardabil, searching tirelessly for any sign of Ayub. Eventually, she found his house—but the man she loved had been unfaithful long ago and had married someone else.

Suro stayed in Ardabil, living out her life alone. Now in her seventies, she remains a single woman. This story, which took place 40–50 years ago, turned Suro into a living symbol of love in Ardabil. The late poet Asim Ardabili immortalized her story through his poem “Jehnamde Bitin Gol”, transforming this real-life tale into a literary masterpiece.
