SAEDNEWS: Although doctors believe that even Alzheimer’s patients don’t forget major events like their wedding day, Peter Marshall apparently was an exception.
According to Saed News, citing Shama News and CBS News, life has taken on the form of a dark comedy for a 53-year-old American man who has been living with Alzheimer’s for the past three years. Not only did he forget his marriage to Lisa, but he also fell in love with her again and proposed.
Those close to the elderly man said that Peter forgot not only the date of his wedding but also the fact that he was married. However, this did not stop him from feeling attracted to Lisa, who lives with him in a nursing home, and asking her to marry him again—even though he had forgotten her name at times.
Lisa recounted that one day, when a wedding celebration appeared on TV, Peter pointed to it and said, “Why don’t we do something like this?” Surprised, she asked, “Do what?” He replied, “Let’s get married!”
Proudly recalling her husband’s second proposal, Lisa said, “He has fallen in love with me all over again.”
