Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Remove the bones from the chicken and set the meat aside. Chop the chicken into small pieces until you have about 3 cups of cooked chicken.
Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions and drain it. Add the asparagus one minute before draining the pasta. Place the cooked spaghetti and asparagus back into the pot.
In a large pan, sauté the mushrooms and bell peppers over medium heat for about 8 to 10 minutes until they become tender.
Add the flour and black pepper, then stir well. Pour in the chicken broth and milk at the same time, and cook until the sauce thickens. Add the mushroom mixture to the chopped chicken.
Mix the Swiss cheese and lemon zest into the pasta mixture, then transfer everything into a rectangular Pyrex baking dish.
In a medium bowl, combine the bread crumbs, olive oil, and lemon zest. Sprinkle this mixture over the pasta.
Bake for about 15 minutes until the topping becomes golden and crispy. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
