Meat and potato dumplings are a very simple and delicious dish that can be prepared quickly using only a few basic ingredients. This meal is especially popular among children and is also known as a type of finger food, making it suitable for serving at parties. In this section, we will teach you how to prepare meat and potato dumplings step by step.
Ingredient | Amount |
|---|---|
Boiled potatoes | 3 |
Salt and black pepper | as needed |
Ground meat | 250 g |
Onion | 1 |
Oil and turmeric | as needed |
Parsley | 1 medium bunch |
Butter | 50 g |
White flour | 1 cup |

First, wash the potatoes well and place them in a pot with water and a little salt. Boil them for about 30 to 45 minutes until fully cooked.
After boiling, peel the potatoes and place them in a bowl. Add butter, salt, black pepper, and turmeric, then mash everything thoroughly until smooth.
Finely chop the parsley and add it to the mixture.
Gradually add flour and mix until a soft dough forms that does not stick to your hands. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rest at room temperature for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, finely chop the onion and sauté it in oil until soft. Add the ground meat and cook it well. Then add tomato paste (if used), salt, turmeric, and pepper, and stir until the meat is fully cooked and browned.
After 30 minutes, place the dough between two floured plastic sheets and roll it out to about 0.5 cm thickness.
Use a round cutter or a small bowl to cut the dough into circles.
Place some of the meat mixture in the center of each circle and fold them into dumpling shapes, sealing the edges well.

Grease a baking tray and place the dumplings on it. Bake them at 200°C for about 20 minutes until golden. Then grill them for about 5 minutes to make them crispy.
Heat a suitable pan and add enough oil so the dumplings can partially float. Fry them over low heat so they cook thoroughly inside. Once one side is golden, flip and fry the other side. Place them on paper towels to remove excess oil.
This tasty dish is very appealing to children, especially those who are picky eaters or have low appetite. Serving it with ketchup or sauces can make it even more attractive.
