Tantuni is a famous and beloved Turkish beef sandwich originating from southern Turkey. It is made with thinly sliced beef, onion, parsley, and tomato, and has a delicious aroma and flavor. Ingredients

  • Beef tenderloin: 250 g

  • Red onions: 2

  • Chopped parsley: 3 tablespoons

  • Lavash bread or pita bread: 3 pieces

  • Olive oil: 2 tablespoons

  • Sumac: 1 tablespoon

  • Salt, red pepper, and paprika: as needed

  • Tomatoes: 2


Instructions

  1. Slice the beef tenderloin into very thin strips.

  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a pan over medium heat, then add the beef and sauté for a few minutes.

  3. Add salt, red pepper, and paprika, and continue cooking.

  4. Pour in about half a cup of hot water, cover the pan, and let the meat cook over low heat until tender.

  5. Slice the onions into thin strips.

  6. Mix the onions with chopped parsley in a bowl, then add sumac and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Mix well.

  7. Finely dice the tomatoes and set aside.

  8. Once the meat is cooked, dip the pita bread briefly into the meat juices to soften it, then place it on a flat surface.

  9. Add the cooked beef in the center of the bread, followed by the onion-parsley mixture and chopped tomatoes.

  10. Roll the bread from one side to form a sandwich.
