According to Saednews, Desserts are among the most popular and diverse foods around the world. Fruit-based desserts, in particular, are widely loved for their pleasant aroma and refreshing taste. They are usually served after meals because their sweetness can help with digestion. With the arrival of warm weather, enjoying a cool and delicious dessert on hot summer days becomes especially enjoyable.

Parfait, a French word meaning “perfect,” is a type of cold dessert. In France, it is traditionally made with eggs, sugar, and cream. In the United States, however, it is often prepared in layers with ingredients such as ice cream, jelly, caramel, syrup, and various fruits.

Banana parfait is a delicious chilled dessert made by combining milk, sugar, caramel custard powder, cream, and cornstarch. It is layered with bananas and biscuits, creating a beautiful, elegant, and flavorful treat. If you would like to prepare this dessert at home, follow the recipe below.

Ingredients

  • Milk: 4 cups

  • Caramel custard powder: 1 packet

  • Sugar: 1/2 cup

  • Bananas: 2

  • Cornstarch: 7 tablespoons

  • Fresh cream: 1 pack

  • Petit beurre biscuits: 1 pack

Instructions

To prepare this dessert, first pour the milk into a suitable pot. Add sugar, caramel custard powder, and cornstarch, then whisk well until the mixture becomes completely smooth and uniform.

Place the pot over medium heat and stir continuously until the mixture begins to boil and thickens. Once it reaches a pudding-like consistency, turn off the heat.

In a separate bowl, add the room-temperature cream. Mix it with one ladle of the hot pudding mixture and stir well until the cream becomes lighter. Then pour it back into the pot and mix thoroughly until fully combined.

Slice the bananas into round pieces and crush the biscuits into fine crumbs.

Prepare serving glasses and start layering:

  • Add a layer of crushed biscuits at the bottom

  • Place banana slices around the inside walls of the glass

  • Add a layer of the pudding mixture

  • Repeat layers of biscuits, bananas, and pudding until the glass is full

Finally, pour caramel sauce from the custard packet on top and decorate with a few banana slices.

Refrigerate for about 1 hour until chilled and set. Serve cold and enjoy.
