Two Paintings by Naser al-Din Shah Qajar of a Beautiful European Woman beside an Iranian Samovar Pouring Tea, Wearing a Boat-Neck Dress and a Puffed Skirt (dated 1263)

According to the Saed News history service, Naser al-Din Shah Qajar, apart from his interest in photography—occasionally taking pictures of the women of his harem—also engaged in painting since his time as crown prince. He wrote brief descriptions in the margins of some of his photographs and paintings. Among his works is a painting dated 1263 (Iranian calendar). This time, he depicted a European woman.

A European lady is shown in a luxurious room, sitting beside a tea table with a samovar, holding a cup of tea in her hand. She is wearing a hat and elegant clothing.
