SAEDNEWS: President Masoud Pezeshkian says lasting security and stability in the region can be achieved through cooperation and dialogue among regional countries, while making use of their own domestic and regional capabilities.
According to Saednews, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian held talks with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Kyrgyzstan on Monday, focusing on bilateral relations and ways to expand cooperation between Tehran and Baku.
Pezeshkian said Iran would overcome external pressure, sanctions and economic restrictions by relying on its domestic potential and strengthening cooperation with neighboring countries. He emphasized that Iran would not permit major powers to influence the will and decisions of nations through pressure.
The Iranian president also highlighted the importance of regional cooperation in promoting peace and stability. He said lasting security could be achieved through dialogue and collaboration among neighboring states rather than through intervention by outside powers.
Aliyev expressed Azerbaijan’s support for the Iranian people and emphasized the importance of further strengthening friendly ties between the two countries. He said Baku placed significant value on its relationship with Tehran and considered closer bilateral relations beneficial to the shared interests of both nations.
The Azerbaijani president also expressed his country’s readiness to expand economic and trade cooperation with Iran. He called for greater use of existing capabilities while developing new opportunities to increase exchanges and interaction between the two countries.
The two leaders agreed to continue constructive dialogue and consultations, strengthen bilateral cooperation and make better use of existing capacities to further advance relations between Tehran and Baku.
