U.S. Military Strikes Reported in Three Iranian Provinces; Deadly Incident in Qeshm and Claims of Attack on East Azerbaijan Examined

According to Saednews, Iranian media reported that, in the early hours of Thursday, missile and military strikes targeted locations in three southern provinces. Officials also rejected circulating claims that the provinces of Fars, Kerman, East Azerbaijan, and West Azerbaijan had come under attack.

Hormozgan Province and Qeshm Island

The most serious reported incident occurred in the Chah Tangu neighborhood of Qeshm Island, where a residential home was struck. According to Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences, three members of a family—a father, a mother, and their two-year-old child—were killed. Two other children, aged seven and nine, were injured and taken to the hospital. Rescue teams continued searching for a missing family member. A temporary power outage affected parts of the island but was restored shortly afterward.

On Kish Island, two loud explosions were reportedly heard at 3:32 a.m. Local officials stated that no residential or urban facilities on the island were damaged.

Authorities in Hormozgan also denied reports claiming that missiles had struck Sirik, Bastak, or Bandar Abbas.

Khuzestan Province

According to provincial officials, several areas in Khuzestan were reportedly targeted during the night, including:

  • Areas near Abadan (first reported strike)

  • Areas near Shadegan (3:49 a.m.)

  • Areas near Arvand Kenar (4:08 a.m.)

  • Ahvaz (4:22 a.m.), where the reported strike caused a temporary power outage in parts of the city, including Golestan and Padad neighborhoods.

Bushehr Province

Around 4:00 a.m., authorities reported that locations in Bushehr Province were also affected. Officials said investigations were underway to determine the exact impact sites and assess the situation.

U.S. Central Command Statement

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that the first wave of its operations against targets in Iran had concluded. According to the statement, U.S. forces struck multiple sites, including alleged command centers, missile and drone facilities, and defensive positions.

Iranian state media rejected these claims, accusing the United States of carrying out attacks that resulted in civilian casualties, including women and children. Independent verification of the reported casualties and damage was not immediately available.
