SAEDNEWS: Iranian Army Announces Warning Missile and Drone Fire by NEDAJA Toward Allegedly Intruding and Harassing US Destroyers
According to Saed News Political Desk, the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced that its Navy issued a missile and drone warning toward U.S. warships it described as intrusive and disruptive.
The statement said that, as part of operations aimed at countering what it called maritime provocations, interference with commercial shipping, and the seizure of commercial and oil tankers by the U.S. Navy, the Iranian Navy fired warning shots using Qadir missiles and its new Shahed Danesh offensive drones. Following these warnings, the U.S. destroyers DDG-103 and DDG-87 reportedly left the Gulf of Oman and headed toward the Indian Ocean.
The statement further claimed that, following this operation and similar actions in recent days, not only the U.S. warships operating as part of the George H.W. Bush Carrier Strike Group and under the command of the U.S. Navy's regional command center, but also the amphibious assault ship Tripoli, were compelled to leave the Gulf of Oman.
The Operations Command and Control Center of the Iranian Navy emphasized that the United States should cease what it described as maritime theft and hostile activities. It added that although enemy vessels had moved farther away and beyond the range of the missiles used in the operation, longer-range missiles would be employed if necessary.
