Saed News: china’s permanent representative to the united nations calls for preventing further deterioration of ongoing tensions in the persian gulf.
According to SAEDNEWS, Fu Cong, China’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, in his speech at the emergency open session of the UN Security Council on the situation in the Middle East, called for restraint from the parties involved and for preventing further deterioration of the ongoing tensions in the Persian Gulf.
He described the source of the ongoing war in the Middle East as the illegal military attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran, saying: “This war should never have happened. Finding an early solution to end this war will be in the interest of the United States and Iran, as well as other countries in the region and the entire world.”
Fu Cong said regarding the recent US–Iran negotiations that Iran and the United States have recently almost maintained a ceasefire, but the risk of escalation still exists.
He described the issue of the Strait of Hormuz as one of the consequences of the expansion of the war, saying that this crisis has disrupted shipping routes and has had serious impacts on global supply chains and production, international trade order, and energy supply stability, and has harmed the livelihoods of Global South countries.
