According to SAEDNEWS, the newspaper Jomhouri Eslami addressed the UAE’s relations with Israel in an article. In part of this article it is stated: “The publication of the news of Benjamin Netanyahu’s secret trip to the UAE during the war of the United States and Israel against Iran has caused a media uproar in the Arab world. The UAE has denied this news, but Israeli officials and those close to Netanyahu insist that the visit took place. It is said that Netanyahu was received by Mohammed bin Zayed in Abu Dhabi and was transferred to his palace.
The reason for the UAE’s sensitivity to this news is the widespread anger and hatred of Arab public opinion toward Israel and Netanyahu personally. The use of some Gulf emirates’ territory for attacks against Iran has increased public pressure on the rulers of these countries. Inside the UAE as well, some emirates have objected to Mohammed bin Zayed’s close relations with Israel.
Israel, by fueling the news of this visit, is trying to increase the UAE’s dependence on itself. If the UAE returns from the path of dependence on the United States and Israel, there is a possibility of improving relations with Iran. The security of the region can only be ensured through cooperation and solidarity among regional countries, not reliance on foreign powers.”
