SAEDNEWS: Wall Street Journal: UAE Secretly Conducted Military Attacks Against Iran, Report Says
According to the political service of Saednews, citing IRNA, the American newspaper stated that the UAE military is equipped with Western fighter jets and intelligence networks. The report claims these attacks indicate that the UAE is now more inclined to use them to protect its economic power and expanding influence in the Middle East.
According to the report, one of the UAE’s attacks took place in April, during which an Iranian oil refinery on Lavan Island was targeted. The strike caused a major fire and shut down a significant portion of the facility’s production activities.
The attack on Lavan occurred at a time when U.S. President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire with Iran.
These sources further stated that the White House secretly welcomed the UAE’s participation in the attack, as well as the involvement of any other country in the Persian Gulf in joining the conflict.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs declined to comment on these alleged attacks.
Previously, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned what it described as the destructive actions of Abu Dhabi’s rulers in collusion with hostile parties, including the continued hosting of their bases and military equipment. It warned of dangerous consequences for regional peace and stability and emphasized that Iran will not refrain from taking any necessary measures to defend its national interests and security.
