Saed News: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a member of the US Congress, said “Trump is busy enriching himself” while revelations emerged about massive and suspicious oil trades just 20 minutes before Trump announced his policy regarding the Strait of Hormuz.
According to SAEDNEWS, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a US congresswoman, said in an interview: “I don’t understand how, when Trump is busy enriching himself, he has time to think about the financial outlook of the American working class.”
Regarding this issue, Bloomberg reported that US authorities are investigating “suspicious oil trades that took place just minutes before Trump announced policy changes toward Iran.” Senator Elizabeth Warren, in a letter to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), called for an investigation into these trades, saying: “This repeated pattern raises serious questions about the misuse of confidential government information.”
In line with Ocasio-Cortez’s remarks, a financial analysis and abnormal trading tracking account in US markets also reported that “just 20 minutes before Trump’s announcement regarding the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, heavy trades were placed betting on a drop in oil prices.” Investors sold 7,990 Brent crude contracts (worth 760 million dollars) and made significant profits.
