SAEDNEWS: IRGC Says US Surveillance Balloon Control System Destroyed in Erbil Attack

IRGC Claims Destruction of US Surveillance Balloon Control System in Erbil

According to Saednews, The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said early Wednesday that its Ground Forces had carried out an attack on US facilities in Erbil, claiming that a maintenance center and warehouses containing technical equipment were destroyed.

According to the statement, fuel storage facilities were also set on fire, while several US personnel were reportedly killed.

The IRGC said the operation was carried out in response to a US strike on a wedding ceremony in Sirik County, southern Iran, which it claimed left dozens of civilians dead or injured. The group described the Erbil attack as retaliation for those casualties.

The statement also urged residents of Iraqi Kurdistan to prevent their territory from being used to launch attacks against Iran. It further called for an end to the US military presence in the region and to what it described as hostile operations against Iran.
