SAEDNEWS: Hundreds of Israelis demonstrated against the government in Tel Aviv, Haifa and other locations, demanding an official inquiry into the October 7 failures and the subsequent war, while also calling for election integrity.
According to SaedNews: Hundreds of Israeli protesters took to the streets on Saturday evening in several locations, with the main demonstration held at Habima Square in central Tel Aviv. According to Haaretz, protesters there called for measures to safeguard the integrity of elections. Similar demonstrations were also reported in cities including Haifa.
One of the protesters’ longstanding demands is the establishment of an official commission of inquiry into the failures surrounding October 7, as well as the subsequent failures during the war.
At the Horev Center in Haifa, another demonstration was held against the cabinet amid controversy over allegations of racism involving medical staff at Rambam Hospital. Protesters chanted, “The medical profession has no nationality, and racism has a price.” Professor Mati Woterman, a senior Rambam physician, said the spread of false claims online had triggered a severe wave of racism and incitement against Arab employees at the hospital and more broadly, provoking international anger.
Meanwhile, dozens of Haredi protesters attempted to block Miron Junction over what they described as the desecration of Saturday. The incident has occurred repeatedly in recent weeks. For the second consecutive week, dozens of secular protesters gathered at the same location to prevent the blockade.
The confrontation between the two sides has continued for weeks.
