Linking Regional Agreements To A Deal With The Israeli Regime Is Rejected

According to SAEDNEWS, citing the Palestinian news site Palestine Online, the World Union of Muslim Scholars issued a statement warning against attempts to impose political and regional measures that affect the sovereignty of Islamic countries and the will of Muslim nations.

The union called for a unified stance among Islamic countries and their opposition to pressure aimed at normalizing relations with the Israeli regime.

It also expressed full opposition to any threats against Islamic countries and Muslim nations, and strongly criticized the so-called Abraham Accords.

The statement said the objectives of this project have become clear and are linked to support for Israeli occupation.

The union described the ongoing policies of the Israeli regime in Gaza, Lebanon, and other regions as “genocide” and “systematic destruction.”

It stressed that political pressure on some regional countries, including what is attributed to the US government, is aimed at imposing new political realities in the region.

The World Union of Muslim Scholars warned against linking regional and international agreements with normalization with the Israeli regime, calling it contrary to international law, ethical principles, and state sovereignty.

In a message to Al-Azhar University in Egypt, it called for a clear position against political pressure and normalization projects, urging scholars to oppose such approaches.

It also called for withdrawal from any initiative or process related to the Abraham Accords.

The union urged leaders of Islamic countries to form a comprehensive strategic alliance in political, economic, military, and security fields to confront shared challenges and resist external dictates.

In conclusion, it warned that the absence of such an alliance would weaken the position of the Islamic Ummah and reduce its ability to face challenges.
