SAEDNEWS: The Secretary-General of Hezbollah has stated that Iran will emerge victorious in what he described as a war imposed by the United States and the Israeli regime, asserting that the Islamic Republic has already humiliated both adversaries.

Hezbollah: Iran Will Ultimately Prevail in the Imposed War

According to Saednews, Sheikh Naim Qassem, in a speech on Sunday marking Liberation and Resistance Day, praised Iran as an “exceptional power” destined to reach an international status that would attract freedom-seeking people from around the world.

“Iran alone stands against the world’s tyrannical great powers,” the leader of the Lebanese resistance movement said, adding that under the leadership of Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran has managed to humiliate both Washington and Tel Aviv.

The Hezbollah leader stated that the Islamic Republic will emerge victorious in what he described as a war imposed by the US-Israeli coalition.

“Iran will come out proud,” he said, adding that the country is set to become an exceptional power with global standing and a sanctuary for the free world.

Sheikh Qassem also addressed the situation in Lebanon, stating that responding to US and allied calls for Hezbollah to disarm would amount to the destruction of the group and Lebanon’s defensive capabilities.

“Disarming the resistance would, in fact, strip Lebanon of its defensive capability and serve as a prelude to annihilation, something we will never accept,” he said.

He further criticized the Lebanese government for what he described as weakness in confronting Israel and its allies, saying it is incapable of standing up to aggression.

“We do not ask the government to confront the American-Israeli project, but at the very least, it should not serve as a tool to facilitate it. The Lebanese government must not stand against its own people, nor align its political objectives with Israel,” he said.

Qassem added that those within the government calling for Hezbollah to lay down its weapons should understand that such a move would allow Israel to “enter the country and massacre and displace its people.”

The remarks come as Lebanon’s pro-Western government has increased efforts to pressure Hezbollah to relinquish its arms, in what some describe as part of attempts to align with US-backed initiatives.

Calls for Hezbollah’s disarmament are linked to a broader ceasefire framework that began in November 2024, aimed at ending Israeli attacks on Lebanon and halting Hezbollah’s retaliatory operations.

Qassem said, however, that Israel has repeatedly violated the ceasefire terms through continued strikes on Lebanese territory, and that the Lebanese government has been unable to enforce the agreement.

He also urged the government in Beirut to avoid direct negotiations with Israel, arguing that such talks would ultimately serve only Israeli interests.
