According to SAEDNEWS, citing the Young Journalists Club, a baby girl with two complete mouths was born in Southern California, USA. Both mouths are fully developed, including teeth, tongue, and lips, and contain all the components of an adult human mouth. The second mouth of this infant is even capable of producing saliva.
American doctors say that at first, when they saw images of the fetus in the mother’s womb, they thought the 0.8-inch structure was a cyst or tumor. The diagnosis of a second mouth was made for the first time at the 28th week of pregnancy.
This condition is extremely rare, and in the past 120 years only 35 people with two complete mouths have been born, making this American infant the 35th recorded case. This baby has two mouths; the main mouth functions like that of other humans, while the second mouth is located on the right side and has no connection to the main mouth.
The six-month-old infant underwent surgery to remove the second mouth from her face. After the operation, examination of the surgical area revealed that the muscle on the right side of the lower lip was inactive, and the baby could not move it.
In the months following the surgery, the infant showed full recovery and was able to eat without any problems.
