According to SAEDNEWS, Rikkie Valerie Kollé represents her country in the 72nd Miss Universe competition. The model won the Miss Netherlands 2023 crown and became the first transgender woman to achieve this title.
In a press release, the competition officials noted that 26-year-old Nathalie from Amsterdam became the first runner-up, while Habiba Mostafa and Lou Dirchs received the titles of Miss Congeniality and Miss Social Media respectively.
This is the first time a transgender person has won a national beauty pageant title.
