SAEDNEWS: The United States has betrayed diplomacy and the E3 have buried it, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says.

US Betrayed Diplomacy, E3 Buried It,” Says Iran’s Foreign Minister

In a statement shared on X on Saturday night, Iran’s top diplomat highlighted the country’s perspective on recent diplomatic tensions:

“In my address before the UN Security Council, I outlined how the United States has betrayed diplomacy and how the E3 have buried it.”

The diplomat emphasized that the setbacks in dialogue are not accidental:

“None of what I have seen in New York suggests that the failure of dialogue is by accident. The U.S./E3 rejection of diplomacy is intentional, based on the mistaken belief that 'might makes right,' and that the Iranian people will yield to pressure. Relying on these faulty assumptions will not resolve the unnecessary crisis at hand.”

He also stressed that the E3 countries violated their commitments under the JCPOA and UNSC Resolution 2231:

“Their invocation of the so-called snapback mechanism is nothing but a blatant abuse of process. UNSCR 2231 will expire on October 18, 2025. Terminated sanctions cannot be revived, and any attempt to do so is null and void.”

This statement reflects Iran’s firm stance on safeguarding its rights under international agreements while calling attention to the ongoing challenges in multilateral diplomacy.
