SAEDNEWS: Iran’s men’s volleyball team defeated host Japan 3-1 in the final of the 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya on Saturday, securing the gold medal for the fourth consecutive edition.
According to Saednews, Roberto Piazza’s men dropped the second set 25-19 but bounced back strongly, winning the first, third, and fourth sets 28-26, 25-21, and 26-24, respectively, to complete an unbeaten campaign.
Iran had earlier defeated Kyrgyzstan, Thailand, and Indonesia in the preliminary round, finishing top of Group B with eight points and securing a place in the knockout stage.
The team then overcame India and Pakistan to book its place in the final, where it completed its perfect run with another hard-fought victory.
