According to SAEDNEWS: the life of Fatemeh Sultan Anis-od-Doleh followed a strange and dramatic path; an orphaned girl who used to herd sheep in Lavasan, she became the most powerful and beloved woman in the Iranian court and ultimately passed away shortly after the assassination of Naser al-Din Shah.

Anis-od-Doleh, the beloved wife of Naser al-Din Shah in the year 1269 in the Iranian calendar. Naser al-Din Shah himself wrote in the margin of this photo: “Anis-od-Doleh, who just yesterday came from Sahebqaranieh to Shemshak; her fatigue is evident from her appearance.”
