Stunning Views of Iran's Most Vibrant Lakes

According to SAEDNEWS, Iran's lakes are a vibrant and beautiful part of the country's colorful nature. Scattered across the land, they are formed by the gathering of rainwater, melting snow, and the flow of springs, creating a refreshing environment for plant growth and a suitable habitat for wildlife and birds. In essence, each lake offers a breathtaking view of nature and serves as a unique destination for ecotourism and exploration.

Iran's Most Vibrant Lakes

Maharloo Lake

Maharloo Lake

Maharloo LakeThis lake is considered a type of salt lake located 27 kilometers from Shiraz. What sets Lake Maharloo apart from other lakes in Iran is its color. Due to the presence of a specific type of algae, along with high potassium levels and significant salinity, the lake appears pink. It is home to many birds such as ducks, storks, flamingos, and pelicans. Additionally, various species of turtles, lizards, and snakes can also be found in the area.

Chort Lake

Chort Lake

Chort LakeThis beautiful lake is located 10 kilometers from the village of Chort and 71 kilometers from Sari. Its original name is Miyansheh, but it is commonly known as Lake Chort due to its proximity to the village. The lake was formed in 1939(1318 in the Iranian calendar) following an earthquake that blocked the spring water in this area, resulting in the creation of this stunning natural attraction. In spring and summer, when the water level is lower, the trees that once grew in this location emerge from the water, creating an extraordinary and breathtaking scene. Fishing is one of the popular activities at the lake, but swimming is not allowed. Boating is another enjoyable activity at the lake. The surrounding forest is equally mesmerizing, with its variety of trees providing a cool and refreshing shade, adding to the lake's charm.

Alendan Lake

Alendan Lake

Alendan LakeAlendan Lake is located near the village of Azni, 65 kilometers from Sari. Not only the lake itself but also the path leading to it and its pristine nature are incredibly beautiful, attracting many travelers each year to visit and experience its stunning sights.

The lake's only source of water is rainfall and snow, with no rivers flowing into it. The soil type around the lake is unique, such that even a small amount of rain or snow causes all the water to flow toward the lake. Due to the impermeability of the soil, the water remains in the lake for a long time.

Gahar Lake

Gahar Lake

Gahar LakeGahar means "gathered water." Unlike the Caspian Sea, which can become crowded at times, Gahar Lake is a peaceful destination for those who want to enjoy pristine nature.

Located 35 kilometers from Dorud, Lorestan, in the protected area of Oshtoran Kooh, reaching the lake requires a 40-minute walk. The lake is divided into two parts: Upper Gahar and Lower Gahar, which are only 100 meters apart. The lake is famous for its clear waters, and in some places, you can see the lake’s bottom and the fish swimming. The shore of the larger Gahar Lake is sandy in some areas on the western and eastern sides, while the rest of it is rocky.
