SAEDNEWS: Senior officials from Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey are set to visit Tehran for a joint meeting focused on strengthening regional self-reliance in security and drawing on Iran’s defense experience.
According to Saed News’ political desk, Ali Bagheri Kani, deputy secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, announced that three senior regional officials would travel to Iran to meet with Major General Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, and participate in a joint meeting.
Outlining the level of representation expected from the participating countries, Bagheri said that, under an agreement reached, Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman, Pakistan’s Army Chief General Asim Munir, and Ibrahim Kalin, head of Turkey’s intelligence agency, would attend the meeting.
He said the purpose of the officials’ visit and the joint meeting was to advance the idea of regional countries taking responsibility for their own security and drawing lessons from Iran’s claimed success in what it calls the “Third Imposed War.” He added that the Islamic Republic of Iran’s defense model, based on domestic capabilities and internal resources, had become a successful model for establishing national security.
The deputy secretary of the Supreme National Security Council emphasized that Iran’s strategic policy is that regional security must be provided and guaranteed by the countries of the region themselves. Any foreign interference or influence, particularly by the United States, as well as any role played by what Iran describes as the “illegitimate Zionist regime,” undermines regional security and stability.
Bagheri added that a four-country meeting in Tehran could represent an important and effective step toward establishing an autonomous regional security framework.
He described Iran’s proposal to establish self-reliant regional security through the participation of neighboring countries as a result of the Iranian people’s and armed forces’ success in the “Third Imposed War.” He expressed hope that implementing this proposal would bring stability and peace to West Asia.
The deputy secretary also referred to the Pakistani army chief’s visit to Tehran the previous week, saying that General Asim Munir had informed Major General Mohsen Rezaei during their meeting of the decision by senior officials from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan to visit Tehran and hold a joint meeting.
