SAEDNEWS: Russia’s envoy to international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, says the UK, France and Germany paved the way for US and Israeli attacks on Iran.
According to Saednews, In a post on his X account, Russian envoy Mikhail Ulyanov criticized the European trio of France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, accusing them of escalating tensions over Iran’s nuclear program and paving the way for US and Israeli attacks against the country.
“Tehran’s officials are very mild-mannered and polite. They overlook the fact that, since March 2022, the three European signatories to the JCPOA—France, Germany, and the UK—have consistently sought to escalate tensions at the IAEA Board of Governors, effectively paving the way for aggression against Iran by the United States and Israel,” Ulyanov wrote.
Ulyanov’s remarks echoed criticism previously expressed by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei, who accused the three European countries of contributing to rising tensions.
On Saturday, Baghaei responded on X to concerns raised by Germany and several other European countries over escalating tensions in West Asia.
Referring to a statement made by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in June 2025, Baghaei recalled his remarks endorsing Israel’s military actions against Iran.
“In June 2025, Friedrich Merz remarked on Israel’s military aggression against Iran, stating, ‘This is the dirty work that Israel is doing for all of us.’ Now, in October 2026, the German foreign minister, along with counterparts from several other European nations, is warning of a renewed attack on Iran and stressing the need to contain tensions,” Baghaei wrote.
