According to Saednews, A former high-security prison that has been transformed into a luxury hotel has become a new tourist attraction in the Netherlands in recent months.
The notorious Het Arresthuis prison, which was converted into a luxury hotel at a cost of €15 million, has attracted a growing number of international visitors.
According to TripAdvisor, the prison housed many dangerous inmates for nearly 150 years. Until it closed in 2007, no prisoner had ever managed to escape.
Het Arresthuis has now been transformed into a luxury hotel featuring 24 rooms, 12 suites, a shopping center, a swimming pool, a sauna, a tennis court, and other leisure facilities.
A night in one of its suites costs approximately €700. Guests can also enjoy fine dining prepared by French chefs.
In recent years, the Netherlands has become one of the world's successful tourist destinations. Alongside flower exports and industrial production, tourism is considered one of the country's major sources of income.
