SAEDNEWS: Popular faces like Christina Aguilera, Stan Lee, Betty White and Oprah Winfrey received the honor in past.
According to SAEDNEWS, Miley Cyrus was overcome with emotion as she delivered a heartfelt acceptance speech, being recognized as Disney's "Youngest-Ever Legend." The touching moment unfolded at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, where fellow star Lainey Wilson invited Cyrus to the stage for a lively performance of the beloved Hannah Montana classic, "The Best of Both Worlds."
As Lainey Wilson praised Miley for her courage to break boundaries and stay true to herself, Miley took the stage, with tears streaming down her face. "I’m gonna let everybody in on a little Disney Legend secret," she began. "Legends get scared, too. I’m scared right now, but the difference is we do it anyway, and all of you can do that every single day."
Cyrus emphasized the importance of facing fears, adding, "It’s legendary to be afraid and do it anyway. There is no such thing as failure when you try." As she wiped away her tears, her speech resonated with the audience, reminding them of the power of perseverance.
Recounting her journey with Disney, Cyrus humorously reflected, “In 2005, Disney was on a mission to rebuild the company. That’s why they hired Bob Iger and me.” With pride, she declared, “I stand here still proud to have been Hannah Montana.” Miley dedicated the award to her iconic character, her loyal fans, and to everyone who helped make her dreams a reality. Referencing the Hannah Montana song “This is the Life," she added a nostalgic touch to her acceptance.
Miley wasn’t the only star celebrated that night. The honor was conferred upon several Disney luminaries, including costume designer Colleen Atwood, Angela Bassett, Disney Parks cast member Martha Blanding, James Cameron, Jamie Lee Curtis, and many more. The event was a beautiful celebration of the impact these legends have made within the Disney legacy.
