SAEDNEWS: Yemen’s Armed Forces announced on Tuesday that they had carried out a large-scale missile and drone attack against Saudi Aramco facilities and the Khamis Mushait air base in southern Saudi Arabia. The operation was described as a response to Saudi-led airstrikes on Yemen over the previous three days.
According to Saednews, Yemen’s Armed Forces said they carried out a large-scale operation involving dozens of ballistic missiles and drones against several targets in Saudi Arabia.
According to the statement, the attacks targeted Aramco facilities in Abha, Najran and Jizan, as well as the Khamis Mushait air base. Yemen’s forces claimed the strikes were precise and caused significant damage to the targeted locations.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesman for Yemen’s Armed Forces, said the operation was conducted in response to an intensification of Saudi-led airstrikes against Yemen.
The statement said the Saudi-led coalition had carried out 121 airstrikes over the previous three days in areas including Marib, Al-Bayda, Hudaydah, Taiz and Al-Jawf.
Yemen’s Armed Forces described the operation as part of their ongoing response to what they called aggression against Yemen. They also said attacks on Saudi military positions and other strategic sites would continue until the blockade on Yemen was lifted.
“Operations deep inside Saudi Arabia and against its military gathering centers will continue,” the statement said, adding that the group would continue what it described as a “blockade for blockade” policy until the attacks stopped and the blockade was lifted.
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy confirmed that several energy facilities in the southern part of the country had been targeted on Tuesday morning. The ministry said the attacks caused fires at several locations and temporarily disrupted some operations.
Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry also confirmed attacks on facilities in Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jizan and Najran, reporting that several people were wounded.
Yemen’s Armed Forces said the strikes were carried out in response to Saudi air operations and warned that Riyadh would be responsible for any further escalation.
The forces reiterated that their policy of “blockade for blockade and escalation for escalation” would remain in effect until what they described as the end of the aggression and the lifting of the blockade on Yemen.
