SAEDNEWS: Mutual trust is essential for maintaining peace and stability among nations, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated, highlighting its central role in fostering strong ties between Iran and Turkmenistan.

In a meeting with Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in Ashgabat on Friday, Iranian President Pezeshkian emphasized the long-standing historical bonds between the two nations and their shared commitment to fostering peaceful, friendly, and stable relations.

The Iranian president highlighted that the countries share a deep historical connection rooted in equality, friendship, peace, and security. “This mutual trust forms the foundation for strengthening bilateral ties and ensuring long-term cooperation,” he noted, according to his official website.

Pezeshkian also stressed the importance of implementing existing agreements, particularly in areas such as gas, transportation, trade corridors, and economic collaboration. While significant agreements have been reached, challenges remain in certain sectors that require Turkmenistan’s follow-up to ensure full implementation and mutual benefit, he added.

For his part, President Berdimuhamedov underscored the need to strengthen relations and cooperation between the two nations. He highlighted Turkmenistan’s initiative to host the International Forum of Peace and Trust, which has brought together heads of state and policymakers from UN member states, reflecting a shared commitment to peace and security.

Pointing to the deep cultural and civilizational ties, the Turkmen president noted the potential for further collaboration and expressed interest in learning from Iran’s rapid progress across various fields. He reiterated the importance of dialogue and cooperation within the Islamic world.
