SAEDNEWS: Fried mushrooms are a popular appetizer known worldwide. This delicious and crispy dish is often served as a starter in restaurants and fast-food joints. Below is a step-by-step guide to making crispy baked mushrooms at home using different methods.
According to SAEDNEWS;
Fresh mushrooms: 500g
Egg: 1
Milk: ¼ cup
All-purpose flour: 2 tbsp
Breadcrumbs: 4 tbsp
Salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder: To taste
Oil: As needed
Use a damp cloth to clean the mushrooms, removing any dirt. If necessary, trim any damaged parts with a knife or peel off the outer layer.
Beat the egg in a bowl until smooth. Add milk and spices (salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder) and mix well.
In a separate bowl, combine the flour with a pinch of salt, black pepper, and paprika. Place breadcrumbs in another bowl.
Preheat your oven or toaster to 200°C (390°F). Lightly grease the baking tray with oil.
Dip each mushroom in the egg mixture.
Roll it in the flour mixture.
Dip it again in the egg mixture, and finally, coat it in breadcrumbs.
Place the mushrooms on the prepared baking tray.
Place the tray in the oven and bake at 200°C (390°F) using the convection setting (heat from both top and bottom). Bake until the mushrooms are golden and crispy, approximately 10-15 minutes.
For a toaster oven, keep a close eye, as they might cook faster.
Remove the baked mushrooms and serve them hot with your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!

Use breadcrumbs instead of flour for a crispier coating.
Avoid leaving the mushrooms in the batter for too long to prevent them from becoming soggy.
Panko breadcrumbs can add extra crunch.
