According to the Political Desk of the Saed News website, Al-Masry Al-Youm reported that the Trump administration has officially begun implementing its so-called “Gold Card” program. Under this plan, individuals seeking fast-track residency authorization in the United States must first pay $15,000 to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

After completing the required background checks, applicants must then pay $1 million to obtain the visa, which allows them to live and work in the United States.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said the card is essentially a permanent residency card but “works in a more powerful way.”

The U.S. Secretary of Commerce also claimed that 10,000 people have already registered for the program, expressing hope that the United States could raise billions of dollars by selling thousands of these cards.

This initiative has been launched at a time when Washington is intensifying its measures against migrants, increasing work visa fees, and deporting undocumented immigrants.
