Iran and EU Could Meet Again Soon: Araghchi Hints at New Talks

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has hinted at the possibility of another round of negotiations with the European Union, contingent on Europe taking a decisive stance.

In an interview with IRIB, Araghchi described his recent discussions in Cairo with IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi as “very serious,” emphasizing the weight of negotiating in the shadow of war and with the memory of martyrs ever-present. “These discussions are neither easy nor a matter for smiles,” he said, underlining the gravity of the diplomatic process.

While Iran remains committed to diplomacy, Araghchi stressed that future talks with the EU hinge on whether European leaders make a clear and firm decision regarding the country’s nuclear dossier.

The statements highlight Tehran’s cautious yet open approach, signaling that while dialogue is possible, it will only move forward if Europe demonstrates decisive engagement.
