Baghaei: Using The Snapback Mechanism Will Be Met with An Appropriate Response From Iran

SAEDNEWS: The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman stated that "the threat to use the snapback mechanism is a political act and an action aimed at confronting Iran," and emphasized that if such an incident occurs, it will face an appropriate response from Iran.

The head and a number of members of the Red Crescent Society of Iran were also present at the weekly presser of Esmail Baghaei, the spokesperson on Iran's foreign ministry.

Pirhossein Kolivand, the head of the Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and a number of members of this society, were the guests of today's meeting as the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In this meeting, the head of the Red Crescent Society said: In the 12-day war imposed by the Zionist regime on Iran, the majority of those who suffered were civilians.

8,200 residential units destroyed during the attacks on Iran

He added: During these attacks, 8,200 residential units were destroyed, of which about 400 were completely destroyed. Also, 126 women and 41 children were martyred during these attacks.

Kolivand also stated that "five of our aid workers were martyred during these attacks," and said: The Zionist regime was directly targeting our aid forces and ambulances during its attacks.

Documents of the Zionist regime’s crimes have been sent to international bodies, including the Red Cross Committee

Referring to the extent of the crimes committed by the Zionist regime in the 12-day imposed war against Iran, especially against civilians, he said: “We have recorded the documents of these crimes and have sent them to international bodies, including the Red Cross Committee.”

Stating that we visited some of the crimes of the Zionist regime in different provinces of the country with the representative of the Red Cross Organization in Iran, he said: “In these attacks, the Zionist regime targeted hospitals, including intensive care units.”

More than 80 countries expressed sympathy with the Red Crescent Society

Stating that “we witnessed various war crimes committed by the Zionist regime in the country during these 12 days,” Koulivand said: “More than 80 countries expressed sympathy with the Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the crimes of the Zionist regime against our country.”

He stated that "during these attacks, we saw people's houses being burned, children and our people being torn to pieces," pointing to the depth of the crimes of the Zionist regime in this 12-day war and said: Despite these crimes, we witnessed the zeal and courage of our colleagues in providing relief to the people.

After the head of the Red Crescent Society finished speaking at the meeting, Esmail Baghaei, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, thanked him and his colleagues for the sacrifices and efforts they made during this period.

The use of the snapback mechanism has no legal or international basis

In response to a question about the Europeans' threat to use the trigger mechanism against Iran, Baghaei emphasized at the meeting: This issue has no legal or international basis.

He continued: The threat to use this mechanism is a political act and an action in line with confrontation with Iran, which, if such an event occurs, will be met with an appropriate response from Iran.

The responsibility of Islamic countries and the region regarding the crimes of the Zionist regime in Palestine is heavy

In another part of his speech, the Foreign Ministry spokesman said in response to a question regarding the continuation of the crimes of the Zionist regime against the people of Gaza: Recently, we have witnessed that hundreds of people from Gaza were deliberately attacked by the Zionist regime in food distribution lines and were martyred.

Stating that "the responsibility of Islamic countries and the region regarding the crimes of the Zionist regime in Palestine is heavy," he said: The lack of serious action in this regard will lead to the continuation and expansion of the Zionist regime's warmongering and expansionism.

Baghaei continued: Countries in the region should pay attention to the fact that the crimes of the Zionist regime and its expansionism are not limited to one region.

No date, place, or time has been set for the meeting between Witkoff and Araghchi

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson also responded to a question regarding the news published regarding the meeting between American negotiator Steve Witkoff and Seyyed Abbas Araghchi in the near future, saying: "No date, place, or time has been set in this regard."
