According to SAEDNEWS: Naser al-Din Shah, with nearly 50 years on the throne, holds the longest reign among all the kings in Iranian history after Shapur II of the Sassanid Empire and Tahmasp I of the Safavid dynasty. In honor of his half-century reign over Iran, he referred to himself as "Sahib-Qiran" (Lord of the Auspicious Conjunction). He was also the first Iranian monarch to write his own memoirs. The era of Naser al-Din Shah marked the final period of absolute monarchy in Iran.
