SAEDNEWS: Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says the Iranian delegation came to New York not to seek war, but to help pave the way for peace, while warning that Iran will firmly respond to any aggression.
According to Saednews, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Iran remains committed to pursuing diplomacy while also being prepared to respond to any aggression.
In a post on his X account, Araghchi wrote that President Masoud Pezeshkian and he had traveled to New York to pursue peace rather than promote war.
“Told @MeetThePress: President Pezeshkian and I did not come to New York to sell a war. We came to forge peace,” Araghchi wrote.
He added that Iran would remain steadfast in the face of any aggression, including the possibility of what he described as an “apocalyptic war.”
“At the same time, we are ready for real diplomacy,” Araghchi said.
His remarks came after his appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press” and several days after President Masoud Pezeshkian addressed the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
During the NBC interview, Araghchi said Iran was fully prepared for a possible resumption of conflict with the United States, while emphasizing that Tehran was pursuing diplomacy to prevent such an outcome.
