SAEDNEWS: IRGC Calls Latest US Underwater Vehicle Capture a Technological and Intelligence Trophy
According to Saednews, Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi, spokesman for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), wrote on social media that the Strait of Hormuz is “not only not open,” but has become a hunting ground for the IRGC Navy targeting American underwater vehicles.
He claimed that the “second prey” had been captured, identifying it as an Mk 18 Mod 2 Kingfish, an advanced autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) equipped with sonar and precision-navigation systems and valued at several million dollars.
Mohebbi described the reported capture as more than a military seizure, calling it a “technological and intelligence trophy.”
