SAEDNEWS: A source close to Iran’s UN delegation says the delegation has no plans to hold negotiations with the United States.
According to Saednews, citing IRNA on condition of anonymity, has rejected reports claiming that Iran and the United States are holding talks in New York, where the Iranian delegation is attending the annual UN General Assembly session.
“The considerations and positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran were conveyed clearly and explicitly to the American side last Tuesday through the Qatari mediator, and Iran is awaiting the American side’s response,” the source said.
The source added that, as a result, Iran’s delegation has no plans to hold a new round of negotiations with the United States during its current visit. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is expected to return to Iran on Tuesday after completing his scheduled programs.
President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi traveled to New York this week to participate in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
