SAEDNEWS: Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf rejected a US claim that Iran does not control the Strait of Hormuz, arguing that market prices indicate otherwise.
According to Saednews, In a post on X, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf mocked what he called the “US gaslighting bureau,” arguing that Washington’s claim that Iran does not control the Strait of Hormuz is contradicted by market pricing.
Ghalibaf said the market is pricing in a significant premium, putting it at $35 above pre-invasion levels, or $50 when using dated and actual figures.
“So either the market’s dumb or the US narrative-laundromat is faking it,” he wrote.
He added sarcastically that there is a “free-dollar vending machine in Hormuz for believers,” urging them to “go grab it.”
The remarks come amid heightened tensions surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, a critical chokepoint for global oil shipments. Iran has closed the strait since the early days of the joint US-Israeli aggression against the country.
