According to SAEDNEWS, the initial idea for the Wooden Village came from the construction of a few wooden lodgings along the way for pilgrims traveling to the shrine of Imam Reza (peace be upon him) in a village known as (Molla Mohammad Aghazadeh, a philanthropist from Nishapur) more than 30 years ago.

Wooden Village in Iran

Living amidst the chaos of the city, one finds oneself trapped in an endless cycle of challenges; sometimes, only a short trip to a remote village can bring peace and tranquility to a weary soul.

Looking at wooden objects always warms the heart and lightens the spirit. As psychologists have noted, the presence of things carved from wood is a remedy for the hidden anxieties of modern man.

Imagine, after long and monotonous days in a bustling city, you step into the "Wooden Village," a place where every breath brings a sense of liberation and every glance gives you peace.

Where is the Wooden Village located?

Iran's only wooden village is located 17 kilometers from the center of Nishapur. You can visit it to save your tired soul from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Whether you go by personal car or fly to Mashhad and then travel to Nishapur, or take a train or bus to the Wooden Village near Nishapur, it depends on whether you're ready for a few hours of driving to reach this village.

The Wooden Village is situated on the Esheqabad-Nishapur road, and once you arrive, you’ll find that you've stepped into a small, untouched paradise you never expected to exist in our own country.

What are the sights in the Wooden Village?

In the Wooden Village of Nishapur, there are various buildings, including a wooden mosque, a wooden library and museum, wooden pavilions, and a wooden restaurant. All of these are built using wood in their architecture.

The village’s architecture is in harmony with the local ecosystem, and it is, in fact, the first ecological village built in Iran.

There are also handicraft shops for buying various souvenirs, a bakery, ponds, and wooden suites built for tourists’ accommodation, all of which will create a delightful and dreamy travel experience.

How was the Wooden Village built?

The initial idea for the Wooden Village came from the construction of a few wooden accommodations along the way for pilgrims traveling to the shrine of Imam Reza (peace be upon him) in a village known as (Molla Mohammad Aghazadeh, a philanthropist from Nishapur) over 30 years ago.

Years later, with the construction of several more wooden accommodations, a village was built that became abandoned as cities expanded. However, later, "Hamid Mojtahedi," the grandson of "Molla Mohammad Aghazadeh," saved the Wooden Village from being left to ruin and turned it into one of Nishapur's tourist attractions.

When should we visit the Wooden Village?

Due to the cold climate of Nishapur and the Wooden Village, the best time to visit is in spring and summer. However, if you prefer to avoid large crowds of tourists, you can experience a calmer visit in the autumn and winter. Though the Wooden Village is still not as well-known as it should be, this is enough to ensure that it doesn’t get too crowded during the Nowruz holidays.
