Two-Year-Old Boy Reportedly Smokes Up to 40 Cigarettes a Day

According to Saednews, A two-and-a-half-year-old boy named Repi Ananda Pamungkas has reportedly developed a serious addiction to cigarettes after first taking one from his mother's shop. According to local residents, the toddler has become so dependent on smoking that he even asks passing adults to give him cigarettes.

His 35-year-old mother, Mariyati, said she recently purchased two cartons of cigarettes because her son had been asking strangers for them whenever she refused. She explained that he often smokes while drinking coffee or eating cake and has been smoking every day for approximately two months.

According to his mother, if he is not given a cigarette, he becomes distressed, cries intensely, and is unable to fall asleep. She also claimed that he can smoke as many as 40 cigarettes in a single day. Despite the high cost of cigarettes, the family said they felt compelled to provide them because of his extreme dependence.

Concerned about their son's health, Repi's parents have decided to seek professional medical treatment to help him overcome the dangerous addiction. Health experts widely agree that tobacco use is especially harmful to young children and requires urgent intervention.

Indonesia has one of the world's highest smoking rates, with a significant number of smokers beginning at a young age. Public health officials continue to emphasize the importance of preventing tobacco use among children and adolescents.
