SAEDNEWS: In our daily lives we use items that we would never even imagine have an expiration date, but you should be aware of the items that can expire or go bad.
According to SAEDNEWS, Nothing in life has an unlimited lifespan, and all the items we use daily should eventually be replaced. If you do not replace some of the items mentioned in this section, you may face health problems, so even if your belongings look clean, replace them on time to avoid any issues.
Bath loofah
Like slippers, bath loofahs are a suitable environment for the growth of fungi and bacteria. Therefore, you should replace your bath loofah more often than you might expect. Although you can boil bath sponges to kill bacteria and extend their use, it is better to replace them every 4 to 6 months.
Pillow
The quality of a pillow has a major impact on having a good sleep. Many pillows need to be replaced after 24 to 36 months, and if they are not replaced, they can cause neck pain and allergies because pillows absorb dead skin cells, mold, fungi, and dust particles.
Slippers and shoes
Wearing proper footwear is important for foot health. If you do not replace your shoes on time, the foam-like material in the midsole gradually loses its elasticity and shock-absorbing ability, which can lead to pain in the ankle and heel. You should also replace slippers and indoor footwear every 6 months, as they may cause fungal infections.

Hairbrush
Hairbrushes can carry more bacteria than a sink or a pet’s food bowl. Although you may not encounter anything more serious than scalp issues or head lice from a dirty brush, it should still be cleaned regularly. Most manufacturers recommend replacing hairbrushes every two years.
Perfume
When unopened, perfumes can last up to 3 years, and about 2 years once opened. Eau de toilettes generally last longer: up to 4 years unopened and around 2 years after opening.
Child car seat
Plastic and foam lose their shape over time, so an old car seat will not protect your child effectively. Instead of buying a second-hand seat, it is better to purchase a new one. Car seats typically expire 5–9 years after the manufacturing date, not necessarily the purchase date, because safety standards change over time.
Spices
Spices lose their flavor and aroma after a certain period of time, and if they are ground, they lose their taste even faster. Whole spices remain fresh for about 4 years, while ground spices have a shelf life of 2–3 years, and dried herbs retain their flavor for about 1–3 years.

Flour
High-grade flour can be stored for up to one year, while lower-grade flour lasts only about 6 months.
Fire extinguisher
If you notice any damage to your fire extinguisher, it should be repaired as soon as possible. If you have had a fire extinguisher for a long time (more than a decade), fire safety services recommend having it hydrostatically tested. Fire extinguishers are generally usable for about 15 years.
Extension cords (power strips)
Power strips are not permanent and can become more dangerous the longer they are used. As a general rule, they should be replaced every two years, although this depends on how frequently they are used.
Disinfectants
Although this depends on the type of disinfectant you use, it is important to note that they lose their effectiveness over time. You should always discard cleaning products that have changed in consistency, smell, or color, and keep track of product expiration dates.
Towels
Towels are constantly exposed to moisture, making them an ideal environment for bacterial growth. Over time, they can develop an unpleasant odor that may not go away even after washing, so they should be replaced periodically. The typical lifespan of towels is about 1 to 3 years.
Sunscreen
Two years may seem like a long time, but if you think about it, most of us do not use sunscreen during the colder months. Therefore, it is important to check the expiration date when purchasing it, because once it expires, sunscreen becomes ineffective and can even be harmful to your health.
Toothbrush
A toothbrush is an essential tool for oral hygiene. When a toothbrush becomes worn out, its bristles can no longer effectively remove plaque and cannot protect teeth against harmful bacteria that may lead to gum disease and tooth decay. As a result, the risk of oral infections increases due to the growth of bacteria and fungi on the toothbrush. Therefore, dentists recommend replacing your toothbrush every 3 to 4 months.
