SAEDNEWS: Newborn in Dohuk, Iraqi Kurdistan, Born With Three Genital Organs

An Unusual Childbirth Story in Iraq

According to Saed News, citing Bartarinha, the child was born a few months ago. At the age of three months, after noticing swelling in the scrotum and two protrusions beneath his genital organ, his parents took him to the hospital.

After examination, doctors discovered that the two protrusions were actually two additional penises: one measuring two centimeters located below the primary organ, and another measuring one centimeter situated beneath the scrotum.

This is the first reported case of triphallia (three penises) in the world, and it has been documented in a medical journal.

Doctors state that the child had no history of genetic abnormalities, and the mother had not been exposed to drugs during pregnancy.

Since the two additional organs were nonfunctional, surgeons removed them through a surgical procedure.

The International Journal of Surgery Case Reports has published details of this rare case.

Dr. Shakir Salim Jabali, one of the authors of the report, stated: “To our knowledge, this is the first documented case of triphallia in the world, and no similar case has ever been observed or reported in history.”

The first case of diphallia (two penises) was reported approximately four centuries ago.

Diphallia is an extremely rare condition that may occur once in every five to six million births.

So far, around 100 cases of infants born with two penises have been reported, and in some instances, both organs were functional.

Six years ago, news of an Indian infant born with three penises circulated; however, the claim was later dismissed because it was not documented in an international medical journal.
