SAEDNEWS: Iran’s Minister of Information and Communications Technology said Iran is ready to share its cybersecurity expertise with Iraq, drawing on its experience in defending against major cyberattacks.
According to Saednews, Iranian Minister of Communications Sattar Hashemi said Tehran is pursuing a policy of “technology diplomacy” to strengthen cooperation with Iraq, following a meeting with Iraqi Minister of Communications Mustafa Jabbar Sanad on Monday evening.
During a joint press conference, Hashemi said Sanad’s visit to Iran was organized as part of efforts to deepen technological cooperation between the two countries.
Hashemi also referred to his visit to Iraq last July, which focused on coordinating and improving communications services for Arbaeen pilgrims. During that trip, he invited his Iraqi counterpart to attend the opening of the Elecomp exhibition. The Iraqi minister and his delegation are now visiting Iran for the event.
He highlighted cybersecurity as another important area for bilateral cooperation. Hashemi noted that Iran has faced large-scale cyberattacks and, as a result, has developed significant experience in cybersecurity. He said Iran is prepared to share this expertise with its Iraqi counterparts.
