SAEDNEWS: Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, is in the spotlight over his turbulent family life and at least 14 children. Issues include his estrangement from his transgender daughter, a custody dispute with Ashley St. Clair, and his young son “X” appearing in confidential meetings with Donald Trump.
According to Saed News’ Science and Technology Service, Elon Musk—the world’s richest man and CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and the X platform—has long remained in the media spotlight not only for his extraordinary business achievements but also for his turbulent, complex, and often controversial personal life. Musk, who promotes childbirth as a solution to what he calls the “population collapse crisis,” is the father of at least 14 children (one of whom died in infancy). However, his relationships with the mothers of his children have frequently been marked by legal disputes, emotional drama, and public controversies on social media.
Musk’s first marriage was to Canadian author Justine Wilson, with whom he had six children. Their first child, Nevada, died at 10 weeks old from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). The couple later had twins and triplets.

One of their children, Vivian Jenna Wilson (formerly Xavier Alexander Musk), came out as a transgender woman in 2020 and legally changed her name and gender two years later. Vivian’s relationship with Elon Musk has become severely strained. In interviews, she has described her father as a “pathetic man-child,” “cold,” and “narcissistic,” and claimed that he humiliated her in childhood for exhibiting feminine traits.

In contrast, Musk has attributed this emotional estrangement to what he describes as “neo-Marxist” influences in universities and has repeatedly criticized transgender communities in public statements. Vivian has stated that she has had no contact with her father since 2020.
Afterward, Musk entered an on-and-off relationship with Canadian singer Grimes, resulting in three children with unusual names: X Æ A-Xii, Exa Dark Sideræl, and Techno Mechanicus. Their relationship also ended in prolonged legal disputes over custody.

A notable aspect of this situation is Musk’s strong attachment to his eldest child from this relationship, “X” (X Æ A-Xii). Multiple reports indicate that Musk frequently brings the child to major events, business trips, and even sensitive political meetings. The child’s repeated presence in private and official meetings, including interactions involving former U.S. President Donald Trump, has attracted significant media attention.
Musk also has children with Shivon Zilis, a senior executive at Neuralink, including twins. Media reports have at times described Musk’s simultaneous relationships with multiple mothers as resembling a “harem-like drama,” filled with underlying tensions and legal complexity.

One of the most recent and controversial issues involves Ashley St. Clair, a conservative influencer. In February 2025, she announced that she had given birth to a son named Romulus in 2024, fathered by Elon Musk—a claim later confirmed by a paternity test.

The relationship quickly escalated into a legal battle. St. Clair initially sought sole custody and accused Musk of financial control. However, in January 2026, Musk shifted his position and announced he would pursue full custody, citing concerns over St. Clair’s changing views on transgender rights and fears about “transitioning” their one-year-old son. This dispute has since evolved into a public conflict marked by mutual accusations on social media.
Elon Musk’s family issues are not limited to his own children. His relationship with his father, Errol Musk, has been deeply strained for years, with Elon publicly describing him as a “terrible human being.” In 2025, a New York Times report brought renewed attention to Errol Musk, alleging serious accusations of sexual abuse involving multiple children and step-relatives dating back to 1993. Errol Musk has denied all allegations, but they have continued to cast a long shadow over the family name.

Critics argue that there is a major contradiction between Musk’s global ambitions and his personal life. While he presents himself as a visionary advocating for population growth and managing multiple global tech companies, his private life is often described as chaotic—filled with legal battles, emotional conflicts, and public disputes with former partners. These ongoing controversies have not only affected his public image but are occasionally seen as influencing investor sentiment and executive focus across his companies.
