SAEDNEWS: The US administration should take into account the realities on the ground, where the situation is shifting against Kyiv, when considering a settlement to the Ukraine conflict, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said.
According to Saednews, The US administration should take into account the realities on the ground, where the situation is increasingly shifting against Kiev, when seeking a settlement to the Ukraine conflict, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov told TASS while commenting on the possible visit of US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Moscow.
Earlier, a TASS source reported that Witkoff and Kushner planned to travel to Moscow and Kiev on September 5–6.
“The key question is how prepared the US administration is to invest in finding a genuine solution to the current crisis, taking into account the realities on the ground,” Ryabkov said. He noted that this includes not only the root causes that Russia has repeatedly highlighted, but also the changing situation itself, which, he said, is not developing in Kiev’s favor.
Ryabkov added that developments during and following the Anchorage summit had raised a number of questions about the US approach to resolving the outstanding issues.
“The question is whether the US side is prepared to approach the range of issues that need to be resolved within reasonable limits, without giving in to political expediency or the influence of those who oppose a settlement,” he said.
According to Ryabkov, these questions remain unresolved.
