SAEDNEWS: Iran Downs Another US MQ-9 Reaper Drone Over Eastern Strait of Hormuz
According to Saednews, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) air defense unit, operating under the country’s integrated air defense command, reportedly shot down a US drone described as hostile.
The incident followed an early Monday morning US attack on Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz, which prompted a strong response from Iran.
In retaliation, Iranian armed forces launched missiles and drones toward US bases in Jordan and the United Arab Emirates.
Iran’s reported shoot-downs of MQ-9 drones have also significantly reduced the US stockpile of these unmanned aircraft.
